The Cakebook brings cake decorators, wedding cake designers, cookie artists, sugar flower makers, topper artists and dessert-table specialists together in one searchable South African directory. Visitors browse the work first, narrow the search by craft, style, occasion and area, and then contact the maker directly.
It is the public-facing maker’s registry of the Secret Sugar Academy: an institution for practical learning, creative development and community in the sugar arts. A Cakebook page is available to Academy members, including members with a free verified account.
Real work matters here
The photographs are meant to show work the maker actually made. AI-generated and materially AI-altered entries are prohibited. Submissions are reviewed and the Academy makes every reasonable effort to keep the collection authentic, although no human review process can promise that nothing questionable will ever slip through.
The Cakebook does not collect a maker’s street address. Public location stops at province, city or town and suburb. Makers may also state whether collection is available and how far they generally deliver.
